The other night, I finish going over my editor's final notes on my book, Save Him, and shut down the computer for the night. Grab a beer and remember I have to take down the laundry from upstairs in my son's room and make his bed. He makes his bed by throwing the comforter back over it. I appreciate the effort, the lump of a comforter and the sheets underneath all bunched up, but I make his bed anyway. Finished, I glance out the window across from my son's bed, and there is a lady standing on my lawn. Well, not really on it, at the edge. Behind her, a car makes its way down the street. She just stands there, head tilted down like she's looking for something.
I head downstairs to help her. Maybe she was walking her dog and lost her phone or something. Get outside, and she's gone. I look to my right, and she's rounding the corner down the block. Go back inside and make my way down to the man cave. Turn on my computer, and start writing Lady on the Lawn.
As of tonight, I have over 3000 words written.
Weird how it works sometimes.

I am always looking for a post-apocalyptic story to read since reading The Road years back. Since being hooked on the genre, I stumbled across After The Shock by Scott Nichols and I really like the way the story is going so far. If you are looking for a good post-apocalyptic story, you should check this one out.
Remember last time I was here I mentioned I have a new website?
Well on that website, there is a link for my mailing list. Do you know what my subscribers get for signing up? A sneak peak excerpt from my new book, Save Him!

Did I mention what my new book is about? Hmmm, I don't think I did. Basically, a rogue scientist discovers a form of time travel and goes back in time in an attempt to save Jesus from being crucified.
Now come on, you've gotta be a little interested in that, right? ;)

Have you guys ever heard of NetGalley? It's a cool site where influential book-types can read a legal free copy of your book. Librarians and Educators look for books for their shelves or schools and Reviewers and Bloggers can find books to share with their followers. And if you are lucky, a lot of them will leave reviews along the way.
I just added my book to the site last night and it has been awesome getting the email requests from people wanting to read my book!
If you have an account on NetGalley (or are looking for a reason to set one up) click the link below and Request a copy!
The Year Santa Stubbed His Toe on NetGalley
Just wanted to drop in and say Happy Halloween!!! This is absolutely one of my favorite holidays.
I was basically flipped off by this fluffy-tailed little bastard an hour after I finished carving that pumpkin...Good thing my knives were already washed. JUST KIDDING!!!
We had tons of trick-or-treaters this year which is awesome. Now my wife won't have to take on the daunting task of "getting rid" of the leftover candy. I know she will be pleased. Or maybe I should go buy more...hmmmm.
I follow exactly two sports and Baseball is one of them. This series is killing me. Just wanted to drop in and say hello whilst I sit and bite my nails down to my elbow. Have a great night!
I know it's Halloween Season, as I posted the other day. Oh, by the way, the wife saw the lights and her only comment was "Hmmmm", I'm still trying to descipher that. I'm gonna call it a win for now.
Anyway...I was updating my Amazon Author page and stumbled across a really cool giveaway feature, so, feeling the spirit of the season, (yeah Halloween, Christmas, whatever...I'm in a good mood) I thought it would be cool to try one of their bouncy box giveaways.
You can find it HERE There are 30 eBook copies available and the Giveaway runs for 30 days.
Good Luck and Please Share the Giveaway!
October 1st - Halloween is coming!! Halloween season is one of my favorite seasons, next to Christmas.
I just spent hours turning my house into a Clark Griswold-like orange masterpiece. My wife hasn't seen it yet (that should be fun!).
I would put up photos, but she is the only one that knows how to use the camera on the phone and like I said, she hasn't seen it yet.
My son saw it though, he said "Looks like a pumpkin exploded out there!"
